To conduct sale
transactions of merchandise at Thrift Stores. To sort, tag and stock merchandise=
. To maintain store security.

ALIFICATIONS:

Profess

be currently enrolled in a GED class.

retail experience.

COUNTABILITY:

SPONSIBILITIES:

To
open and close the stores. (S=
pecify
times/week day or at times as directed by Thrift Stores Manager.)

To ensure you are accompanied=
by a
Manager to and from the stores when carrying mission money, in order to red=
uce
personal risk/liability.
· =
To ensure the store, bathroom=
s and
changing rooms are clean.
· =
To check with your supervisor=
about
any special instructions for the day at the beginning of the day.
· =
To receive Start-Up money each
morning, counting it to make sure sum is correct and report any differences=
to
Stores Manager/Bookkeeper.
· =
To count money at the end of =
the
day and fill out sales worksheet at the end of the day (start up money and
deposit money).
· =
To sort, price and tag items =
for
resale in the store.
· =
To operate Cash Register.
· =
To stock shelves/racks and cl=
ean as
necessary.
· =
To receive donations and write
receipts as directed by the Stores Manager during special events, otherwise
direct donors to the Warehouse.
· =
To assist Stores Manager in t=
he supervision
of Community Service Workers ensuring they sign in and out accurately. (Rem=
ember
Community Service Workers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their
parent/s at all times.)
· =
To assist Stores Manager in t=
he
supervision of Volunteers.
· =
To fill and record vouchers s=
ent by
Intake.
· =
To fill and record and ensure=
Residents
sign for items on Vouchers sent by Men’s Programs.
· =
To record, daily, items that =
are
given away on the monthly Store Giveaway Tally sheet.
· =
To make accurate entries in
accident logs; advise Stores Manager immediately when an accident occurs and
call 911 if necessary.
· =
To fill out Incident reports =
and
advise Stores Manager.
· =
To monitor customer activity =
and
report any suspicious or threatening behavior to Stores Manager. (Any parent who cannot supervise a=
nd
control their child/children must leave the store immediately.)
· =
To not use food, drink or che=
wing gum
in the stores. No dip or other
tobacco products are to be used in the stores.

To get the Executive
Director’s approval before posting brochures or advertisements.
· =
To report panhandling, which =
is not
allowed anywhere on mission property, to the Stores Manager immediately.

To stay aware of mission need=
s and
advise Stores Manager when a needed item is available.
· =
To cooperate with other staff
members as a team player to obtain mission objectives. This includes learning/helping in =
the
recycling program
· =
To carry out any other duties
within the scope, spirit and purpose of this position as assigned by your
supervisor.

To attend and participate in =
Staff
meetings.
· =
To become familiar with the
contents of the employee manual in the first 30 days of employment.

Work hours: 40 hours per week

8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a half hour for lunch and two fifteen minute
breaks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a half hour for lunch and two fifteen minute
breaks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
